500 Year of Celebration between Tailand and Portugal Diplomatic relationship

This photo is very interesting and I nearly don’t need to say much, it’s practically visual. If you don’t believe me, take a look; what do you see? Well, first place, a huge “V” between these two honourable women, which gives us the signal that they are uncomfortable and trying to set their personal space protected. The curious thing on this photo, are not only them, but two more characters that I shall show at the end.

First: Portugal’s First Lady, then Her Royal Highness Princess of Thaildand Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

So, let’s start with the First Lady, which honestly puzzles me at this particularly picture. She’s deflecting which we’ve seen that, but surprisingly she’s actually leaking signals of feeling some threatening, because she’s hiding her neck with her chin, we can see that because she’s slightly tilting her head downwards signalling defensive, closing her neck, which is revealed by the skin “bumps” under her chin, plus, you can see that she’s emphasising this signal by sliding her shoulders away from her; this doesn’t stop here, the First Lady’s smile is stretched across face in a straight line, teeth concealed; she’s holding her feelings, possibly due to dislike, and this is masking a micro expression of fear, because her eyes are wide openned exposing the eyes’s  sclera.

The Princess of Thailand actually has no defensives attitude that I can see beside the “V” but this deflecting is evolved on the fact that these two ladies are not acquaintance enough due the lacking of socialization. Now, as she’s not showing any defensives payable by facing her body forward to the Portugal’s First Lady, she triggers my curiosity. Her face. Obvious, and everyone has seen that, her smile is also a “social smile”, but her upper lip is too elevated for a smile, in addition, you can see if you insist your vision, that it make a “M”, plus, her lower teeth are shown, which does not happen with “social smiles”. You can see this happening with “snarl similes” and that shows that there is little empathy.

Onto the other two characters. Do you see the gentleman behind the Princess with the Van Dyke beard? To whom is he looking and what signal is he leaking? Do you see the gentleman at the middle of the picture, the friendly old man? What are the differences – in terms of signals – between him and the Van Dyke beard?
Conclusion: I don’t believe that the Portugal’s First Lady was feeling actually threatened / feared from the Princess of Thailand; although I believe that the dialogue between them at moment did in fact set out a fearful /snarl emotions
